Hipcooks

jacks April

April is a James Beard Award-winning food writer and accomplished home cook. She has written food stories for National Public Radio, National Geographic, the Washington Post, and Los Angeles Magazine, among others. She loves to source unusual ingredients and develop unique recipes. April is new to Hipcooks and looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm for using food to tell a story.

jacks Christina
Cooking with other people is where it's at for Christina. It reminds her of summers at her grandmother's farm in Romania — she and her sister would pick the evening's dinner from the garden. The girls were given reign to experiment and get crafty with ingredients. Since joining Hipcooks in 2007, Christina has been hooked on "Hipcooks Style" cooking. She's even recruited her sister Katie to teach at Hipcooks.  All in the family, we say!

jacks Katie

All in the family! Big sister Christina recruited Katie to join her as a teacher at Hipcooks in  2012 — cooking & teaching talent runs in the blood.

"Let's face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people."  (Audrey Hepburn) Katie says: "Add a glass or two of red wine to that!"

jacks Kyrsten

Kyrsten has been with Hipcooks since 2008, though we'd argue she's a born Hipcook. Her welcoming, easy-breezy style comes from her roots — she was raised amid the gastronomic delights of the Big Apple and the Big Easy. Whether she's spending two days crafting a feast for a special soiree, fridge-diving to whip up a delectable dinner in 15 minutes, or teaching a cooking class, she indulges her inner Hipcook with a smile and a garnish.

jacks Sara
Family recipes, shared stories, and the joyful mix of Jordanian roots and American classics are all part of Sara’s cooking. She loves giant gatherings filled with humor, overlapping aromas, and conversation. The kitchen represents flavor, warmth, and connection — with you!
