Hipcooks Assistant Program
Be part of our vibrant community. When you participate in the popular Hipcooks Assistant Program, we’ll trade you Hipcooks Classes in return!
To qualify to become a Hipcooks Assistant, you must have taken at least one class with us in the past.
In addition, we ask you to be dependable – if you sign up for a spot, we’re counting on you to show up and work responsibly.
What we ask from our assistants:
Arrive 30 minutes before class begins and expect to remain about 30-45 minutes after class ends.
Help students get situated as they arrive for a class, and help any late arrivals.
Be the teacher's right-hand during class. The teacher may ask you for help with small tasks - i.e, pass a spatula, bring an ingredient or turn on the kettle.
Help keep the Teaching Island clean and organized - wipe the island clean as needed and take used items to the sink area. (The bulk of this happens during the breaks when students are eating.)
Wash dishes during and after class. Student dishes, flatware, and glassware will be loaded into the dishwasher at the end of class, but there will be pots, pans, and equipment to hand-wash, especially after the class ends.
Help with end-of-class tasks to get the Hipcooks Studio ready for the next class - this includes sweeping, taking out the garbage, refilling the filtered water, etc.

Every new assistant receives an orientation for their first shift.
Enjoy the Class meal and a glass of wine/cocktail! As an assistant, you’ll learn by observing and jumping in behind the scenes - perfect for our hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves types. Some Assistants revisit favorite classes, others try something new. Assistants will get the class recipes on their My Hipcooks page after assisting.
Earn free classes! Assistants earn 1 free Hipcooks Class for every 3 classes they assist.
Teaching Assistant Appreciation Parties! We love to celebrate our amazing assistants with studio parties - full of food, drinks, and good times. Plus, we’ll offer occasional perks like 2 for 1 signups, extra snackie bits, and other lovely treats.
We often hire from our pool of Assistants for part-time and full-time roles. It’s a great way for us to get to know each other and see if we’re a great fit.
How it works:
Interested in being a Teaching Assistant? Hooray! Email admin@hipcooks.com and ask to be added to the Hipcooks TA Mailing List. Include your name, email, mobile phone number, and the Hipcooks location where you’d like to assist. We’ll get back to you promptly with details.
Once you’re added to the List, you'll have access to the assistant signup schedule. Sign up anytime, for any available slot - you may assist as often as you wish. We’ll confirm your request with an email, and send a reminder email the day before class.
Our teachers count on Assistants! If you sign up to help, please be sure to show up — and only cancel if absolutely necessary (with as much notice as you can give). Thanks for being reliable!
When new classes are posted, we email the entire Teaching Assistant List. Once you decide to stop participating in the TA program, please ask to be removed from the distribution list.
