All classes require advance registration & payment is made in full at the time of registration. Minors (under age 18) must have Hipcooks written approval to attend a session (or they may be turned away).
You may cancel your class up to 48 hours before the class start-time to receive either class credit or a refund. If you choose a refund, a $5 per person processing fee will be removed.
If it is past the 48-hour mark and you find that you cannot attend, the payment is non-refundable. You will still receive the class recipes but the class fee/option to reschedule will be forfeit. You can, however, send someone in your place to attend the class.
If it is past the 48-hour mark and you need to cancel the reservation, please do so online. This will automatically notify our Wait List, and we make every effort to help. If someone off the waitlist takes your place, we will send you class credit. Please note that this is not a guarantee. If it is past the 48-hour mark, expect that your payment is non-refundable. Please do not email to ask for an exception — you can read more about why we have our cancellation policy here.
* Inclement Weather: if weather conditions are unsafe and travel is not advised in the greater Metro area, we will cancel the entire class. During days of inclement weather, we will notify the class of a cancellation via email at least 3 hours prior, so please check your email before traveling. Otherwise, the class will be held, and the cancellation policy above holds.
Our Gift Certificates (& class make-up codes) can be applied to classes we offer at any Hipcooks location. The recipient simply signs up for any available class, provides the Gift Certificate number and voilà, we're cooking!
The certificates do not expire and are worth their cash value until used in full. Hipcooks Gift Certificates are valued at purchase price (even though your GC might say "good for 1 spot"). Occasionally class prices are increased and your GC value might not meet the entire cost of the class. Therefore, you may expect to make up the price difference via payment (i.e. $5 or $10).
Gift certificates are non-refundable. They are redeemable for class credit only and are not exchangeable for cash or for items in our retail store.
Once we’ve determined the date, time, menu and approximate headcount of your class, we’ll invoice for payment by check. (Please note that a 3.5% convenience fee is added for credit card payments.) Your class is confirmed when we receive payment. Before then, the class is only tentative and we are not obligated to hold your slot.
Confirm your headcount with Hipcooks. (If you have more people, then you must obtain written approval from Hipcooks for additional people, and further payment may be due.)
If anyone in your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, this is the time to let us know! Otherwise, there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate those individuals. For more information about allergies/food restrictions/likes and dislikes, please see here. In a nutshell, advance notice is key!
Please do not bring wine or alcohol to Hipcooks, by you or your guests. We will not allow it. (Except in the rare circumstance when we’ve discussed and cleared it beforehand.) Besides, we’ve got you covered! We select wines for each class and serve generous tasting-sized pours (usually during first and second courses of the meal). Alcohol consumption is limited at all Hipcooks classes to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Wine is served with the first course of the meal (which can take some time to prepare), as opposed to a welcome drink when you walk in.
A minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required for a change of date or cancellation. In the case of a cancellation of 2 weeks or more, we will refund your payment, minus 10%. Absent 2 weeks’ notice, the private class payment is forfeit to Hipcooks.
Minors (those under age 18) are not allowed without prior permission from Hipcooks.
Bringing outside food to Hipcooks Classes (such as a birthday cake) is not allowed. (Except in the circumstance when we’ve discussed it beforehand.) Instead, allow us to tweak our menus to fit your needs! Additionally, food prepared at Hipcooks is not permitted to leave the studio, for public or private classes. If you have decorations and need time to set up, please clear this with us in advance. (Please note that most decorations are allowed, but items like confetti are not, so kindly check first.)
If you wish to extend your class time to include more social time, or for a business meeting, please ask us beforehand to see if we can accommodate.
