Class Policies

All classes require advance registration & payment is made in full at the time of registration. Minors (under age 18) must have Hipcooks written approval to attend a session (or they may be turned away).

 

Cancelation & Make-up Policy

You may cancel your class up to 48 hours before the class start time to receive class credit only. No refunds are issued and payment is final.
 

If it is past the 48-hour mark and you find that you cannot attend, you will still receive the class recipes but the option to reschedule will be forfeit. You can, however, send someone in your place to attend the class.
 

If it is past the 48-hour mark and you need to cancel the reservation, please do so online. This will automatically notify our Wait List, and we make every effort to help. If someone off the waitlist takes your place, we will send you a class credit. Please note that this is not a guarantee. If it is past the 48-hour mark, expect that your reservation is forfeit. * Inclement Weather: if weather conditions are unsafe and travel is not advised in the greater Metro area, we will cancel the entire class. During days of inclement weather, we will notify the class of a cancellation via email at least 3 hours prior, so please check your email before traveling. Otherwise, the class will be held, and the cancellation policy above holds.

 

Gift Certificate Policy

Hipcooks Gift Certificates (& class make-up numbers) can be applied to classes at any Hipcooks location, including Hipcooks Virtual. The recipient signs up for any available class, provides the Gift Certificate number at checkout and voilà, we're cooking!

Hipcooks Gift Certificates do not expire and are worth their cash value at time of purchase until used in full. Hipcooks Gift Certificates are valued at purchase price, even if it states number of spots, i.e."good for 1 spot". If a Gift Certificate value does not meet or exceed the purchase price of the class, the customer will make up the price difference via payment at checkout. Applicable local sales taxes will paid by the recipient at time of redemption.

Gift certificates are non-refundable. They are redeemable for class credit only and are not exchangeable for cash or retail items.

 

Group Class Policies

Booking your class 

Once we’ve determined the date, time, menu, and approximate headcount of your class, we’ll invoice for payment. (A 4% fee is calculated for credit card payments: please let us know if you would like to pay via ACH or check and we’ll discount the invoice.) Your class is confirmed when we receive payment. Before then, the class is only tentative and we are not obligated to hold your slot.

 

A week before class 

Confirm your headcount with Hipcooks. (If you have additional people you will need prior approval from Hipcooks and further payment may be due.)

If anyone in your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, let us know as soon as possible and, at minimum, 1 week before class. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate those individuals.

 

Arrive on time

The class will start and end at the indicated time. Should your group arrive late, the class end time will not be modified. Class menu items and teaching time may be adjusted and removed from your class in order to stay on schedule.

 

Alcohol Policy for Group Classes 

Please do not bring wine or alcohol to Hipcooks, by yourself or your guests: it is not allowed. Besides, we’ve got you covered. Alcohol is served with the meal as a food pairing (as opposed to a welcome drink when you arrive.) Tasting pours are served to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

 

Group Class Cancellation Policy 

A minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required for a change of date or cancellation. In the case of cancellation of 2 weeks or more, we will refund your payment, minus 10%.  Absent 2 weeks’ notice, the private class payment is forfeit to Hipcooks.

 

Other notes 

Minors (those under age 18) are not allowed without prior permission from Hipcooks.

Bringing outside food to Hipcooks Classes (such as a birthday cake) is not allowed. Instead, allow us to tweak our menus to fit your needs. Food prepared at Hipcooks is not permitted to leave the studio. 

If you have decorations and need time to set up, please obtain permission from Hipcooks in advance. (Note that most decorations are allowed, but items like confetti are not, so check first.)

If you wish to extend your class time to include more social time, or time for a business meeting, please ask us beforehand to see if we can accommodate your group.
